Jesse Edward Markum

Jesse Edward Markum, Sr. was born December 13, 1932 in Wynnewood, Oklahoma to Jesse Herman and Unas Markum.  He passed away on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 83.

Jesse married Sarah Lawanda Nadine Duncan on September 5, 1951 in Ardmore, Oklahoma.  They moved to Chickasha in 1956 and have made their home there ever since.  He worked for Wonder Bread for 35 years and also worked for Chickasha High School as a security guard before retiring.

He is a member of Calvary Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.  He also served as a coach for a number years for the Chickasha Little League Baseball program.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jesse Herman and Unas Markum; a son, Stanley Dean Markum; and three brothers and 2 sisters.

Jesse is survived by his wife of 65 years, Nadine Markum;

A daughter, Terry Lynn Bailey and her husband, Paul, of Yukon, OK;

3 sons:  Richard David Markum of Ardmore, OK;

Michael Edward Markum and his wife, Dixie, of Edmond, OK;

Tracy Alan Markum and his wife, Rhonda, of Edmond, OK;

9 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandsons;

3 brothers:  Eugene Markum, Gary Markum and Donald Markum.
