Funeral Service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 5th, 2026 at First Baptist Church Ninnekah in Ninnekah, Oklahoma. Interment will be held at Ninnekah Cemetery in Ninnekah, Oklahoma under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.

Jerry Lee Heavin went home to meet Jesus on Friday, August 28th, 2026 in Chickasha, Oklahoma at the age of 79. He was born January 11th, 1947 in Chickasha, Oklahoma to Chester and Nadine (Paddack) Heavin.

Jerry was a loving husband, Daddy, and a very proud Papa to his 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. His family moved to California for a short time when he was young and he began attending school there before moving back to Chickasha, then Verden, Oklahoma. He graduated from Verden High School in 1965, where he was active in sports and FFA. Jerry attended college in Chickasha and Poteau, Oklahoma, before enlisting in the Army National Guard in 1967. He worked several jobs in Chickasha, where he was honored to serve as both a police officer and firefighter. For roughly 30 years, Jerry was a familiar face at Brandt’s Hardware store in Chickasha. Before his retirement, he was known for his expertise in livestock medicine and his love for telling bad jokes, delivered with a mischievous grin.

Jerry was a long-time member of First Baptist Church Ninnekah and met the love of his life, Cheryl (Lee) Heavin, during a church function. They married at her parents’ home in Ninnekah in 1972 and lived in Chickasha for a short time before buying a house south of Ninnekah in 1975. Jerry and Cheryl created a wonderful home where they raised their 2 kids, Chad Heavin and Micah (Heavin) Davis, and spent over 50 years there together. Jerry loved working outside, mowing, tending to his cattle and farm, and bragging about his precious grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Nadine (Paddack) Heavin.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Cheryl (Lee) Heavin, children Chad Heavin and wife Jennifer, Micah (Heavin) Davis and husband Daryl; grandchildren Cade Heavin and wife Baylee, Case Heavin, Boston Davis and Chloe Davis; great-grandchildren, Hunter Heavin and Tuff Heavin; sister Sharon (Heavin) Wilson and husband Bob, brother Steve Heavin and wife Nancy; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, and many other friends and family members that loved him.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Benevolence Fund at First Baptist Church Ninnekah.
