Chickasha

Jason Roylee Pruner was born on March 5, 1975, to James Henry Pruner and Leveta June (Miller) Pruner. He passed away on March 15, 2024.

Memorial Service for Jason will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at the Salvation Army Church in Chickasha, OK under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.

He was raised east of Chickasha, Oklahoma, where he attended school. After graduating from Amber-Pocasset High School in 1993, he went on to further his education at Rose State College and Mid America Christian University in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, where he studied Business and Criminal Justice. Jason was a proud member of the Delaware Nation and a direct descendant of Black Beaver. He used his skills and love of his tribe throughout his career and served as the Chief Executive Director at Creative IT Solutions as well as Indigenous Technologies.

Jason's love of his family was a defining characteristic in his life. He adored his wife, Cassandra (Cassie) Kay Freed, whom he married on August 15, 1995. Jason and Cassie had two children, James Wyatt and Kaylee Morgan. In his spare time he enjoyed dressing up as Santa Claus and surprising the children of friends, in their homes at Christmas. He loved going camping and kayaking with his family as well as Geo Caching. He also enjoyed attending NASCAR races with friends and was a die hard Kansas City Chiefs Fan. Jason also was an avid Sooner fan and loved going to the University of Oklahoma football games. Football season would not be complete if he did not attend the OU - TX showdown, which always made for a fun trip across the Red River with his close friends. Jason was a joy to be around and loved playing pranks and jokes on friends. To say that he was a people person would be an understatement!

What Jason loved most was spending quality time with his family and friends. He had a big heart and loved being around people and helping in whatever ways that might be needed, and always did so with a smile on his face. Jason was active in CASA, President of the Kiwanis for several years, a Board Member of the Chickasha Opportunity Center, an active member of The Salvation Army Church, and an Ordained Minister.

Jason was preceded in death by his parents, James Henry Pruner and Leveta Pruner. He leaves behind his wife, Cassie Pruner; son James Pruner and wife Laura of Chickasha, Oklahoma; daughter Kaylee of Chickasha, Oklahoma; and son Ronnie Madison of Chickasha, Oklahoma; brothers Steve Harris and wife Sharon of Blanchard, Oklahoma; Tony Harris and wife Darla of Chickasha, Oklahoma; sister Judy Kennedy and husband Jerry of Blanchard, Oklahoma; three nieces, several aunts, uncles, cousins, as well as countless friends.

One of Jason's favorite scriptures was Romans 8:31: "What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?" Jason was loved by many, and he will be truly missed.
