Janna Joyce (Gibson) Lynch was born August 30, 1989 in Stillwater, Oklahoma. She is the daughter of Jackie and LaDonna (Thompson) Gibson. She passed away unexpectedly in a tragic car accident on Saturday, January 2, 2016 near Wynnewood, Oklahoma.
She was a true gift from God when Jack and LaDonna became her parents two days after her birth. Janna was a source of joy for all of her family from the very beginning. It was clear very early that Janna was going to be a beautiful person with an independent streak and vivacious personality.
Naturally graceful and outgoing, she started dancing at a young age and continued competitively through her sophomore year of high school. She spent a lot of time playing with her cousins as she grew up and developed a love for horses and being outdoors.
She also enjoyed playing basketball and was on the high school team her freshman and sophomore year until a shoulder injury sidelined her. During her junior and senior years, she tried out and made the cheer squad, but often had her foot in a cast. In high school, Janna's natural charm helped her to befriend many newcomers, and she made many lasting friendships. She was active in leadership in her church youth group and led singing on the praise and worship team. In 2008, Janna graduated from Tuttle High School.
Janna received the first ever June Bryant Cosmetology Scholarship awarded at Tuttle and chose to attend Duncan Brothers School of Hair. With her outgoing personality and creativity in coloring and styling hair, it was a natural fit. She worked at a salon in Ada for a short time and also at Salon Rouge in Newcastle in 2009 and 2010. Her first son was born in late 2010, and she married Austin Black. Although the marriage was not destined to last, they continued to be friends and care for their precious son.
In 2011, Janna moved to the Ada area. She found that she really enjoyed the people of this area and the ranching community. She quickly made many friends that were very dear to her. She married Shane Lynch and helped with his horse and cattle business and maintained the home. Their union was also blessed with a son in 2013. While they divorced recently, they continued to raise their son together. She had just started working at the Smalltown Gypsy Salon and Barber Shop in Wynnewood, Oklahoma in December of 2015, and seemed to have finally found her niche. She was so excited about this new opportunity, and the Wynnewood community had welcomed her with open arms. She felt she was finally getting to do what she loved and was called to do.
Janna's best accomplishment and most important role was that of being a mama to Bayler and Tate. She posted pictures nearly every day on social media of her boys. She told stories of what they were doing and how much she loved them. She frequently talked about how proud she was of them both and how blessed she was to be their mama. She loved them fiercely, and they were her world.
There are so many words that have been used to describe this beautiful soul. Mother. Daughter. Sister. Granddaughter. Niece. Cousin. Friend. Sweet. Kind. Big-Hearted. Free-Spirit. Stubborn. Head-Strong. Independent. Princess. Chic. Sassy. Fighter. Loving. Smiling. Laughing. Fun-loving. Amazing. So many words in an attempt to sum up a life lived to its fullest, but cut short way too soon.
She was a like a firework. Her light shined so bright that she pulled apart the dark. She competed with the stars with all of her heart. She was loved by so many and will be greatly missed by all.
She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Lenard and Collene Thompson and two uncles, L. Keith Thompson and John Conner.
Janna is survived by her two sons, Bayler Jackson Black and Tatum Wade Lynch both of Stratford, OK; parents, Jackie and LaDonna Gibson of Tuttle, OK; brother, Jacob Gibson and his wife, Clarissa, of Tuttle, OK; grandparents, Ray and Janice Gibson of Tuttle, OK; many aunts, uncles and cousins who were each one dear to her; father of her son, Austin Black of Stratford, OK; father of her son, Shane Lynch of Stratford, OK; special friends Robin Wenthold of Blanchard, OK; Mandi Merrill of Tuttle, OK; and so many other dear friends who are too numerous to mention here.
