Janet Breedlove
Janet Marie (Covert) Breedlove went to her heavenly home on June 20th, 2024, at the age of 67. She was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Harold and Betty Covert on September 9th, 1956. She grew up in Sulphur, Oklahoma. In her younger years she enjoyed bowling, playing softball, working in the yard and spending time with her friends and family.
She met the love of her life in February 1975. When she saw Jerald Breedlove, she told her friend "I'm going to marry that man." Two weeks later, on Jerald's birthday, March 8, 1975, they were married and she spent the rest of her life with him, almost 50 years.
Janet has always been a child of God. She grew up singing in the church with her dad and sisters. She and her husband shared a strong faith and raised their children in church and went as long as she was physically able. Even though her physical disability eventually prevented her from attending Church her faith in God never wavered. She was always ready to spread the word and knew that God would always take care of her.
Janet had a habit of adopting people and animals. She took in and cared for countless people and pets. She had the most selfless spirit and spent her life ensuring others had whatever they needed, whether it be food, money, clothes, or just someone to talk to.
She is irreplaceable and will always be missed. As her family has always said, "She's a peach."
She was an amazing mother to her children and spent many years attending school, church, and sporting activities. She loved practicing whatever sports her kids were involved in, especially playing catch with her son.
The family would like to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers. We hope you find peace, as we do knowing she is in Heaven watching over us all.
She spent years working at CVTC in their office. From there she opened DC's convenience store with her sister. She then worked at Chickasha Roofing until her retirement.
She is preceded in death by her father Harold Covert and her mother and father B.A. and Betty Stanford; and her brother Larry Covert, and brother, Earnie Tucker.
Janet is survived by her husband, Jerald Breedlove; her son, Jerod Breedlove and wife, Emily Breedlove; her daughter Heather Breedlove; her grandchildren, Addisynn, Piper, Grady, and George; her sisters, Darlene Crawford and Phyllis Edwards; her aunt Mary Gurley and uncle Harvey Webb and many cousins; her lifelong friend Debbie Noble; and last but not least her best friend of almost 20 years her Mini Pin, Mitzi Breedlove.
A private celebration of life will be held on Sunday, June 30th, 2024.
