Janel Guillett

JaNel Guillett was born on February 6, 1939 in St. Joseph, Missouri to Walter and Georgia Smith. She passed away on May 11, 2024 in Chickasha, Oklahoma at the age of 85.

JaNel Guillett grew up going to Church and loved the Lord. She graduated from St. Joe's in Missouri. JaNel met and married Robert Guillett in 1956 and together they had three children: Randy, Carmen, and Deidre. JaNel and her family lived in California and Washington where they travelled around managing many different motels. After this busy time, JaNel and Robert worked at a trucking company. JaNel and Robert fostered children and they were the youngest couple in California allowed to foster children. They continued to foster children until 1992. Her husband, Robert, passed away in 2014, and then in 2015, JaNel moved to Chickasha, OK where she lived the rest of her life. She enjoyed doing crafts and taking care of her horses, when she had them. For the last several years, she had her dog, which she pampered. JaNel is a member of the First Lutheran Church in Chickasha, OK. She loved her family dearly.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Georgia (Patton) Smith; her husband, Robert Guillett; her daughter, Carmen Bruce; granddaughter, Lena Guillett; brothers, Walter William Smith and Robert Lee Smith.

JaNel is survived by her son Randy Guillett and wife, Kay of Sparks, Nevada; her daughter Deidre Koehler and husband, John of Tuttle, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Casey Bruce, Amanda Brown, John "J.C." Chancellor Koehler; great-grandchildren, Frank Bruce, Alexandraya Brown, Charramaiyne Brown, Audryannah Brown, Shawnnassey Gabriel Koehler, and Dannaika Lynn Koehler.
