James Edward Tamplen

James Edward Tamplen passed from this life on October 10, 2026 in Plano, Texas at the age of 64. He was born on February 25, 1962 in Waco, Texas to Jack Tamplen and Patsy Tamplen.

Funeral service for James Tamplen will be held on Thursday, October 15, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at the Holy Name Catholic Church. Interment will follow the service at Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.

James was a family man. He loved church. He served honorably in the Army and was proud to serve his country and talked about it quite frequently. He loved being a Poppy to his granddaughter. James enjoyed talking sports—especially Nascar--which was his favorite. He loved talking baseball with his daughter. He was a people person. He never met a stranger. He would strike up a conversation anywhere and with anyone. He enjoyed fishing and played darts for years.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Patsy Tamplen.

James is survived by his wife, Margaret Ann Tamplen; his daughter, Emily Marie Tamplen; his granddaughter, Emma Rose Deegear; his siblings, David Glen Tamplen and wife Jane Marie, Kathey Ann Warren, Matthew Tamplen and wife Susan; as well as numerous nieces, nephew, and friends.

James was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He will be dearly missed by all who loved him.
