Dr. James Edward Carpenter

Dr. James Edward Carpenter passed away Friday, August 11, 2017 at Norman Regional Hospital in Norman, Oklahoma at the age of 87.  He was born December 4, 1929 in Ada, Oklahoma to Claude Everett Carpenter and Willie Jewel (Gann) Carpenter.

James married Josephine Marie Maggia in Colgate, Oklahoma on May 15, 1956.

He was a member of the United States Air Force.  He served as a Captain and was stationed at Dreux Air Force Base serving as a Federal Agriculture Inspector.  After the service he worked 10 years as an USDA inspector.  He was a veterinarian for 58 years living in Chickasha since 1959.  He owned and operated the Washita Veterinary Hospital.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Willie Carpenter; a brother, Billy Carpenter and a sister, Juanita Wilson.

Dr. Carpenter is survived by his wife, Josephine Carpenter;

Sandra Jo Carpenter Warr,

Janet Marie Carpenter Ackerman and her husband, John;

And Brian Edward Carpenter,

Grandchildren:  Madaleine Marie Ackerman and Lauran Marie Warr.
