James Otis Bonds, Jr.

A private Family Funeral Mass will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 13, 2020 at the Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, Chickasha, OK.  A public committal service will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Purcell, OK under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home, Chickasha, OK.

James Otis Bonds, Jr., of Chickasha, Oklahoma, passed away on Monday, August 10, 2020 at his home in Chickasha at the age of 61.  He was born June 12, 1959 in Alameda, California to James Otis, Sr. and Lula (Newton) Bonds.

James came to the Chickasha area (Tabler) in 1973 and after graduating he served in the United States Air Force.  He had worked in the oil field for Nabors Drilling and the City of Chickasha.  He worked for ODOT for 13 years before retiring 3 years ago.

He was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church and was involved with the Knights of Columbus and the RICA Youth Group at Holy Name.

He is preceded in death by his father James Otis Bonds, Sr. in 2013.

James is survived by his children:  Jodi Bonds, Jessica Roth, Jesse Bonds and his wife Andrea; and Katie Bonds;

His mother, Lula Bonds; and his sister, Cindy Brand;

5 grandchildren:  Raven Bonds, Lillian Lehman, Kaelyn Roth, Warren Roth and Asher Bonds;

a nephew, Matthew Brand and his wife, Jennifer;

a niece, Danielle Brand and her husband Carl Johnson;

And his fur baby "Bob" the cat;
