Glenn Douglas Milligan, 86, of Tuttle, OK, passed away early the morning of Sunday, October 20, 2024. He was born on January 24, 1938 to Frank and Ruth Milligan in Ardmore, OK. His family moved to Amarillo, TX, where he later wrestled for and graduated from Amarillo High School before attending Amarillo Junior College. He graduated from the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology in August, 1960, with a Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering. From 1960 to 1974, he worked in underground copper mines in Superior, AZ, White Pine, MI, and near Casa Grande, AZ, holding several engineering and management positions. He was drafted into the U.S. Army in May, 1962, and honorably discharged in May, 1964. He married Judith Ellen Brown on February 14, 1970 in White Pine, MI. Glenn is survived by son Troy Edward and daughter Megan Suzanne, niece Suzanne Sutherland, nephew Steve Keene, and several great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Frank, mother, Ruth, sister, Betty, and niece, Mary.
Glenn had several hobbies, but he especially enjoyed fishing and gardening. Throughout his life, he amassed a large collection of minerals and fossils which he later donated to Tuttle High School in 2000. He enjoyed building fishing rods and lures, photography, and collecting ivory figurines, Kachina dolls, southwest Indian artifacts, and oil paintings. He was an avid reader of ancient and medieval history. In 2000, he became a Master Gardener in the Oklahoma County Master Gardeners Association and took pride in achieving the high designation of "Distinguished Master Gardener". He specialized in growing roses, vegetables, and fruit.
He deeply loved his wife, children, relations, and friends and valued them above all other things in his life. He will be cremated and late to rest next to Judy at the Fairview Cemetery in Tuttle, OK, in a simple burial ceremony. In lieu of donations, the family asks you to simply plant roses, vegetables, and fruit vines and trees, and take comfort in looking at those growing plants, knowing that Glenn appreciated how each of you had grown to be a part of his life.
Private Memorial Graveside and Cremation services are under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
