Glenda Ruth (Sue) Newton Jones

Glenda Ruth (Sue) Newton Jones passed from this life on Friday, September 18, 2026 in Oklahoma City, OK at the age of 76. She was born on September 15, 1950 to parents, Oscar Lee Newton and Tola Mae Butler Newton. She was the youngest of 14 children.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 26, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at New Beginnings Church in Ninnekah, OK. She will be laid to rest at Ninnekah Cemetery. Cremation arrangements are with Sevier Funeral Home in Chickasha.

Glenda (Sue) Newton Jones was born in Savannah, OK. She moved to Chickasha at the age of 5 and attended school in Chickasha until she graduated in 1968. She then married Garry Jones in April of 1975.

She was raised in a Pentecostal Church and loved singing in church and was a song leader for many years. She loved attending church and loved the old hymns and preaching of God’s word.

She worked for 15 years in the eye lab where she made amazing friends, Mike and Margent Mangus were a few of them. She then worked 10 years in home health as a PCA and retired in 2022. Garry and Sue loved to go to Savannah for a getaway. She loved spending time with her great-grandchildren and attending their sporting events.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Tola Newton; 9 brothers, 3 sisters; son, Tony Richardson; daughter, Carrie Bishop; and son-in-law, Darryle Bishop.

Sue is survived by her husband, Garry Jones; granddaughter, Brittany Standing and husband, Michael Standing; great grandchildren, Daniel Lee, Olivia Ann, and McKenzie Sue; sister, Jenny Newton; special friends; Grandma Bert and Aunt Jackie; sidekick, Snowball, as well as many friends, nieces and nephews.
