Funeral Service for Emery Lee Dye will be held on Monday, May 18, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at Tuttle First Assembly of God in Tuttle, OK. Committal will follow the service at Arlington Memory Gardens in Midwest City, OK under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
Come-and-go viewing will be held at Sevier Funeral Home in Tuttle, OK on Friday, May 15, 2026 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Emery Lee Dye of Tuttle, OK was born on November 16, 1935 to Bailey and Lillie Mae (Gibson) Dye in Newcastle, OK. He passed away at Integris Hospice House in Oklahoma City, OK on Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at the age of 90.
Emery graduated from Newcastle High School in 1953. He also attended Oklahoma Baptist University and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
He married Darlene (Teague) Dye on March 11, 1955.
Emery has had numerous jobs over the years, sometimes working 2 to 3 at a time. His jobs included Construction and a Security Guard at Crossroads Mall. He was also a Tuttle Police Officer. He was the pastor at Snow Hill Baptist Church for 25 years. Most recently, he was the pastor at Stable Rock Baptist Church until his recent retirement on March 29, 2026 at the age of 90.
He served in the Oklahoma Air National Guard for 30 years, retiring in 1984. His awards received while in the Air National Guard included: Outstanding Graduate from the Non-Commissioned Officer Academy, Meritorious Service medal, Outstanding Non-Commissioned Officer, Oklahoma Distinguished Service Medal, Three (3) Oklahoma Commendation Medals, and 25-year ribbon for Oklahoma National Guard Longevity Service Medal.
He served as Chaplain for the Police Department and Emergency Medical Service of Tuttle and Chaplain for the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
He enjoyed playing music with Highway 37 Band and Grandma’s and Grandpa’s.
He is survived by his son, Kenneth Dye, of Oklahoma City, his daughter, Karen Sechrist and husband Tim of Mustang, and son-in-law Richard Manuel of Oklahoma City; 4 Grandchildren, Kenneth Dye II, Rachael Ramirez and husband Alex, Ricci Helm and husband Robert, and Courtney Woodard and husband Chad; 7 great-grandchildren, Joel and Julian Ramirez, Rebekkah, Elijah, and Payton Helm, Hunter and Lynnox Woodard; and a sister, Ann Brewster.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Darlene; his daughter, Pam Manuel; his daughter-in-law, Suzi Dye; and brothers, Joe Dye and Robert Dye.
