Edith Mae Tate was born April 1, 1925 in Preston, Texas to Willie and Eura Alta (James) Bates. She passed away on Tuesday, June 30, 2015 in Chickasha, OK at the age of 90. Mrs. Tate grew up and went to school in Ninnekah. She married Walter Tate on June 13, 1942 in Chickasha. She was a bookkeeper for the family business and worked five years at Sears. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ninnekah where she taught children's Sunday school for over 40 years. Mrs. Tate enjoyed cooking, needlework, gardening, but most of all she loved and enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Walter Tate; her parents; a brother, Bill R. Bates; and 3 sisters, Mary Cox, Yvonne Bearrick, and Jean McClellan. Mrs. Tate is survived by her 3 daughters and 1 son: Peggy Stewart and husband, John of Edmond, OK; Charles Tate and wife, Merlinda, of Ninnekah, OK; Judith Mitchusson and husband, Ron, of Ninnekah, OK; Jeanna Buchanan and husband, Tommy, of Chickasha, OK; 7 grandchildren: Melanie Hammons, Mandi Moehnke, Jason Mitchusson, Dustin Tate, Josh Buchanan, Tracy Palesano and Ethan Buchanan and 11 great grandchildren
