Dellas Anderson

A Graveside Service will be at the Altus Cemetery and a Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at the First Baptist Church in Chickasha, OK under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.

Dellas passed away on Friday, September 15, 2023, in Oklahoma City, OK at the age of 91. Dellas Neal Anderson was born on February 2, 1932, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Dupree Coffman Anderson and Bessie Mae (Watson) Anderson.

Dellas grew up in Martha (Jackson County), OK. An only child to Dupree and Bessie (Watson) Anderson. He attended Martha Public Schools his entire life and graduated from Martha High School. After graduation, he joined the United States Army and served his country for two years at Fort Chaffee Army Base. After being honorably discharged from the Army he attended OSU for his undergraduate degree, then went on to get his master's degree in civil engineering from OU. He worked for the Soil Conservation Service for 38 years, where he retired.

He married the love of his life Pat Blackerby in Martha, OK on August 18, 1957, their family grew, and they became the parents of Gregory, and Cindy. They raised their children in Chickasha, OK where Dellas has lived for more than sixty years.

Dellas was very devoted to furthering the Kingdom of God which he did as a Sunday school teacher and an active Gideon.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dupree Coffman Anderson and Bessie Mae (Watson) Anderson.

Dellas is survived by his wife, Pat Anderson of Chickasha, OK; son, Greg Anderson of Frisco, Texas; daughter, Cindy Avers of Friso Texas; and grandsons, Parker and Ethan Avers.
