David Reed

Funeral service will be Friday, March 26, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Grand Assembly of God Church, Chickasha, OK.  In lieu of flowers the family request donations may be given to Friends Fur Change, 2243 N. Sooner Rd., Chickasha, OK  73018.

David Jerry Reed, of Chickasha, Oklahoma, went to his heavenly home on Monday, March 22, 2021 at the age of 66 after a 3 month battle with covid.  He was born September 14, 1954 in Christiansburg, Virginia to Fred and Edith (Helms) Reed.

In 1979, David married Becky Bradford in Cambria, Virginia.  They moved to Chickasha in 1980. They adopted two daughters, Jinnie and Jandi from South Korea.

During his life, David was a faithful servant to God.  David served as youth pastor at Alex Baptist Chapel for several years and then served as pastor, youth pastor, and music director at Norge Baptist Church.  He also served as the music director at Michigan Ave Baptist Church.

David attended nursing and administration school and received his LPN certification.  He worked at Bridges Health formerly known as Grace Living Center for 30 years.

He attended Grand Assembly of God Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother Denny Reed.

David is survived by his wife Becky Reed of Chickasha, Oklahoma;

Daughters:  Jinnie Reed of Boston, Massachusetts; and Jandi Howard of Chickasha, Oklahoma;

Grandsons:  Hudson Howard and Grayson Howard of Chickasha, Oklahoma;

A brother, Rick Reed of Christiansburg, Virginia; A sister, Joan Robinson of Blacksburg, Virginia;

Brothers and sisters-in-law: Mike and Amanda Bradford of Chickasha, Oklahoma; and Richard and Ann Bishop of Richmond, Virginia; and many nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.

Interment will be in Fairlawn Cemetery, Chickasha, OK under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home of Chickasha.
