David Cooksey

Funeral service for David Cooksey will be Monday, January 27, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. in the chapel at Sevier Funeral Home. Interment will be at the Erick Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.

David Cooksey was born in Savanna, OK on August 20, 1951 to Alvin and Jaunita (Huckabay) Cooksey. He left this world to be with his Lord and Savior on January 22, 2025 in Chickasha, OK at the age of 73.

He is the fourth child out of 11 children to Alvin and Jaunita. They were based out of the Oklahoma City area. David went to Oklahoma City schools and graduated. He worked many jobs in his life, at Denny's, Flying J, and Midwest Towers, to name a few.

In 1997 he met Linda Penny. They were married in 2001, where he gained a son named E.J. Musick.

David loved to watch wrestling, fishing and spending time with family.

He is preceded in death by his Dad, Alvin Cooksey, his mother, Jaunita Cooksey, eight brothers and sisters, Tony, Rodney, Fay, Ray, Cheryl, Sheena, Jackie, and Monte Carlos; and his sisters-in-law, Betty Loomis and Helen Cagle.

David will be remembered by his wife, Linda Cooksey, his son, E.J. Musick and wife Lola; two brothers, Tommy Cooksey and Gene Cooksey; and his 6 grand kids, Erica Bohanan and Jesse of Verden, Chris, Tim, Jase, and Az of Verden, and Baylee of Ninnekah.08/20/1951
