Dave Robert Bennett

Jul 30, 1950 — May 12, 2026

Ninnekah

Dave Robert Bennett passed from this life on May 12, 2026, while visiting Biloxi, Mississippi. He was born on July 30, 1950, in Chickasha, Oklahoma, to Jess Bryan Bennett, Jr., and Mary Beth (Phillips) Bennett.

A graveside service honoring Dave’s life will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Ninnekah Cemetery in Ninnekah, Oklahoma, under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.

Come-and-go viewing will be held at Sevier Funeral Home from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on both Tuesday, May 19, 2026, and Wednesday, May 20, 2026.

Dave was raised on a family farm in Ninnekah and graduated from Ninnekah High School. During his high school years, he was an active FFA member, earning the State Farmer designation. Although at that time he was best known for showing award‑winning Herefords and for his skill as a showman, his early interest in public speaking began with the FFA Creed Contest.

Dave met the love of his life, Linda Byrum, in high school, and the two were married in 1969. They built their home next to Mary Beth and Jesse’s farm in Ninnekah, where they began their family with the birth of their son, Bryan, in 1970, followed by their daughter, Shavouna, in 1973.

Throughout his life, Dave balanced his devotion to family, his commitment to the farm, and his passion for motorsports. In 1977, he built his first pulling tractor, which opened the door to a lifelong involvement in truck and tractor pulling, first as a competitor and later as an announcer. Dave and Linda were longtime members of both the Oklahoma Tractor Pulling Association (OKTPA) and the National Tractor Pulling Association (NTPA). His talent behind the microphone eventually led him to become a sought‑after announcer for United Sports of America. He and Linda traveled extensively as part of the Outlaw Truck and Tractor Pulling Association. Dave’s voice and presence became known at truck and tractor pulls around the world.

Dave spent most of his professional career as a parts manager at Livingston Machinery. He earned recognition from the AGCO National Dealer Panel Parts Division as one of the best parts managers in North America. Even while working full‑time, he continued to support and operate the family farm. After retiring from Livingston Machinery, he remained dedicated to maintaining the land he loved.

Dave enriched the lives of his family, friends, and the many communities in which he was connected. His generosity, humor, and unwavering work ethic will be deeply missed.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Sue (Byrum) Bennett, and his parents, Jess Bryan Bennett, Jr., and Mary Beth (Phillips) Bennett.

Dave is survived by his son, Bryan Bennett, and partner Clay Johnson of Texas; his daughter, Shavouna Farmerie, and her husband Chris of Virginia; his grandchildren, Colin Farmerie and Garrett Farmerie and wife Katie; his great‑grandson, Ethan Farmerie; his nephew, Kendall Byrum, and Kendall’s daughters, Kaitlyn and Kylee; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
