Darvin Leroy Smith

Darvin Leroy Smith passed away on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 in Chickasha, Oklahoma at the age of 89.  He was born March 26, 1928 in Chickasha, Oklahoma to Elmer and Bertha (Jantz) Smith.

Darvin grew up in Chickasha and attended Sandlin School.  He married Josie Unruh on March 16, 1952 at the Plainview Mennonite Church west of Chickasha.  He was a farmer at heart.  He farmed for 67 years and operated a dairy for 50 years.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Josie, on July 11, 2016 and his parents.

Darvin is survived by his children:

Grandchildren:  Rusty Schmidt, Dustin Schmidt, Starla Smith, Marlin Smith, Troy Smith,

21 great grandchildren

Sisters:  Dorothy Unruh and Winnie Smith and her husband, Marvin;

Brother, Willis Smith and his wife, Geneva.
