Darlene Baum

Services will be held 10:00am Wednesday September 21, 2022 at Newsong Church of God with burial to follow at Fairlawn cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.

Darlene Baum was born on June 25, 1945 in Whitesboro OK to Paul and Morene Pender. She passed from this earthly life on September 16, 2022, in Oklahoma City OK.

Darlene moved to Chickasha in her early years and made it her home where she spend the majority of her life. In 1967 she married Alvin Baum and the couple moved to the boot hill of Missouri where they lived for several years before moving back to Chickasha. In 1968 Darlene welcomed her precious daughter Shanna into the world. Family was the most important aspect of Darlene's life. Nothing could compare to her unconditional love for her grandchildren. Darlene was an avid traveler, her favorite place to visit was the beach. Her best friend in the world was her sister Bessie Sutton.

Darlene was always a very active member in her local churches including Central Assembly and most recently Newsong Church of God. Darlene lived by the word of God and was known for her love and compassion. Darlene worked multiple jobs including Chickasha Laundry in the 70's, First Federal Bank in the 80's and Cochran Abstract in the 90's where she worked until she retired after 25 years of loyal service.

She is preceded in death by her parents Paul and Morene (Johnson) Pender.

She is survived by her daughter Shanna Melton and husband Cary of Ninnekah; her grandchildren Justin Melton and wife Ashley of Ninnekah, Lisa Van Dorn and husband David of Louisville TX; her great-grandchildren Audrey and Asher Annesley; her best friend and sister Bessie Sutton and husband Roy of Chickasha; niece Jennifer Holden; nephew Joseph Sutton; her inner circle Laverne, Johnny and Ruby; as well as numerous other family and friends.
