Darald "Bub" Berel Smith

Graveside to honor Darald will be held Saturday February 25 ^th , 2023, at Fairlawn Cemetery in Chickasha Oklahoma at 11:00am under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.

Darald "Bub" Berel Smith, passed away from this earthly life on February 23, 2023, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was born on May 11 ^th , 1938, in Chickasha, Oklahoma to Herman and Berel Smith.

Darald grew up west of Chickasha and was the middle child of nine children. He attended Spring Creek School then went on to Friend School where he graduated and met the love of his life Jessa Lee. He loved to play basketball and won the State Championship in 1956. He then went on to attend Central State for two years before going to work. During this time, he married Jessa Lee (McCalla) on July 11 ^th , 1958. To their union they had their son Rick Smith in 1960. Darald worked for Rainbow Wireline Service and Texas-Oklahoma TOX. He then went to work at Consolidated Freight for 30 years and retired in 2000.

After retiring Bub and his wife Jessa began travelling and watching the grandkids play sports. His grandchildren were the light of his life, and he spent as much time as he could taking care of them. He enjoyed watching TV sports especially football and basketball.

He is preceded in death by his parents Herman and Berel Smith; his siblings J.C. Smith, Betty Porter, Dee Whitner, Wanda Paddock, Jay Smith, Tommy Smith and two infant siblings.

He is survived by his wife Jessa Lee Smith; his son Rick Smith and wife Kim; grandchildren Mackenzie, Cole, Maggie and Meg; niece Charlene Cantrell as well as numerous other nieces and nephews.
