Connie Sue Mckenna

Funeral Service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Sevier Funeral Home in Chickasha, OK. Interment will be at Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.

Connie Sue McKenna, of Alex, Oklahoma, Passed away at home surrounded by family on Saturday, February 05, 2022 in Alex, Oklahoma at the age of 76. She was born March 21, 1945 in Kingman, Kansas to Earl Sinnett and Ruby P. (Johnson) Flanary.

Connie went to school in Hutchison, Kansas until the age of 15 when she met and married the love of her life, Donnie Lee McKenna, in Adams, Kansas on July 24, 1960. They moved to Alex, Oklahoma where they started their family and life together. Within a year of marriage Connie lovingly accepted her 5 year old sister into her home and raised her alongside her 5 children. Connie enjoyed crocheting, card games, and family game nights were especially her favorite. She was extremely involved in taking care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She eagerly attended many recitals, graduations, and sporting events, she loved being there for her family. Connie was extremely selfless and always made sure everyone in her family had what they needed. She was incredibly tenacious and a hard worker. She made family the most important part of her life, she made sure everyone was taken care of. Connie was always there for her family in the good times and bad, she was always dependable and dedicated to caring for all of her loved ones. Connie was a dedicated wife and mother, who remained in Alex, Oklahoma for the remainder of her life in the home Donnie built for their family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Earl Sinnett and Ruby (Johnson) Flanary; husband, Donnie Lee McKenna; siblings, Kim, Pamela, and Ronnie; grandson-in-law, Billy McClean, and many other very close extended family.

Connie is survived by her sister, Brenda Novotny and husband Stephen; children, Ricky McKenna and wife, Sherry, Debbie Huff and husband, Victor, Vickie Kirkland and husband, Walter "Peewee", Pamela McKenna, and Kimberly Denton and husband, Tracy; grandchildren: Marcia, Tiffany, Austin, Lauren, Christopher, Stormy, Amber, Nicole, Jessica, and Katherine; many great-grandchildren; her cousin and sister-in-law Charlotte and numerous extended family members.
