Clifford Hartman, 92, passed away Friday November 25, 2022, at the Heritage at Brandon Place Health & Rehabilitation, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Clifford Hartman was born April 6, 1930, in Ray Township 3, LaMoure County, North Dakota, the son of Jacob Hartman and Rebecca (Giesler) Hartman. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. Cliff grew up and attended school in Edgely, North Dakota.

It was in North Dakota where Cliff met his first wife, Loretta May Zabel, who passed away in 2009 after 53 years of marriage. Cliff married Loretta on December 21, 1956, in Santa Monica, California. They first lived in Salinas, California while Cliff was stationed at Fort Ord. Cliff served in the Army for 12 years.

Salinas is where their daughter, Catherine, was born before moving to the Los Angeles, California area. Cliff devoted 47 years to his career, first as an Automobile Mechanic, then as a Marine Mechanic, retiring in 2005 from the Los Angeles County Fire Department. He worked on the LA Co. Lifeguard diesel engine boats for the Baywatch Crew out of Marina Del Rey, California.

When Cliff retired, he and Loretta moved to Duncan, Oklahoma to be closer to his brother, Herb, and sister in-law, Jean. After Loretta passed away, Cliff met his second wife, Evelyn Haynes. They were married and lived together in Chickasha, Oklahoma for the last 12 years of Cliff's life. Cliff made a profession of faith and was baptized. Cliff was a member of Laverty Baptist Church.

Over the years, in his free time, Cliff enjoyed his boats, fishing, camping, reloading his guns, going shooting, bowling, dancing, playing cards, building models and playing checkers with his daughter. He also enjoyed getting together with the "boys."

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob Hartman and Rebecca (Giesler); first wife, Loretta May (Zabel); brothers, Arthur and Harold Hartman; sisters Ruth Schrum and Alvina Ferber; a set of Twins and a Baby who died in childhood and infancy, respectfully.

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn, of Chickasha, Oklahoma; daughter, Cathy Sagebiel (Kent), of Waynesboro, Virginia; granddaughter, Stephanie Leaman (Sean), of Vass, North Carolina; grandson, Grant Nelson (Natalie), of Winnetka, California; brother, Herbert Hartman (Jean), of Duncan, Oklahoma; five great-grandchildren, with the sixth on the way; three step-grandsons, Andy Sagebiel (Katy), Wes Sagebiel (Amanda), and Ray Sagebiel (Bridget); three step-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Upon his marriage to Evelyn, he gained more family: Mary Bidelspach (Truman), Rebecca Parish, Timmy Parish; Grandchildren Truman Bidelspach (Penny), Brian Glass (Dani), Nick Bidelspach (Kathy), Stephanie Graves (Patton), Cameron Glass (Jessica), Laekynn Parish, Lakalynn Parish (Ryan), and Landen Parish; 14 great-grandchildren; and many extended family members.
