Chester Lee Heavin

Funeral Service will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at First Baptist Church Ninnekah, Ninnekah, Oklahoma. Interment will be at Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.

Chester Lee Heavin passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 in Norman, Oklahoma at the age of 97 surrounded by his children. He was born August 3, 1924 in Anadarko, Oklahoma to Audra and Katie (Welch) Heavin.

Chester was a part of the CCC Camp who helped with many community projects across the state of Oklahoma. He enlisted in the Navy, June 28, 1943. Chester was stationed on the U.S.S. Mississippi battleship, he was a gunner, Seaman First Class. He was a part of the Phillipine Campaign and Chester was docked in Tokyo Bay when the peace treaty was signed ending the Second World War. He was honorably discharged February 21, 1946. After the Navy, Chester owned his own gas station and café, worked as a MeadowGold milk deliveryman, car salesman for Conders Motors, farmer and rancher, school bus driver, school board member, Chickasha volunteer of the year at Chickasha Middle School, worked for Perdue Housing, and was an ordained Baptist deacon. Chester retired at the age of 60 and traveled with his wife, Nadine (Paddack) Heavin from 1983 until 1996. Of all the things he has done in his life, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren are his pride and joy. Chester married the love of his life Nadine (Paddack) Heavin November 23, 1945 in Verden, Oklahoma. Chester and Nadine were married for 71 years. They lovingly raised 3 children, Jerry Lee Heavin, Sharon Dean (Heavin) Wilson, and Stephen Glenn Heavin. Chester was saved at an August revival in 1939 at 15 years old. He also served as the song leader for several churches throughout his life, at Eldenbarry Baptist Church 1955 – 1962, during that time he was ordained a deacon June 11, 1960. Laverty church 1962 – 1967, Kinta 1967 – 1969, Verden 1969 – 1971, Ninnekah 1972 – 1984, Laverty 1984 – 1986.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Audra and Katie (Welch) Heavin; wife, Nadine (Paddack) Heavin; siblings, Lester Heavin, Don Heavin, Dale Heavin, and Venita Baird.

Chester is survived by his children, Jerry Lee Heavin and wife, Cheryl (Lee), Sharon Dean (Heavin) Wilson and husband, Bob, Stephen Glenn Heavin and wife, Nancy (Willis); grandchildren, Greg and wife, Angie, Tammy, Chad and wife, Jennifer, Micah and husband, Daryl, Christy and husband, Jay, Waylon and wife, Marilee, Andrea and husband, Jay; great-grandchildren, Cheyenne, Shawnee, Kelsie, Slate, Cade, Case, Boston, Chloe, Jace, Katie, Kash, Tyler, Raylee, Abby, Blake, and Carlie; brother, Dewayne (Bill) Heavin of Amarillo, Texas; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other family that loved him.
