Funeral service for Buford Dean Boswell will be held on Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at 10 a.m. in the Sevier Funeral Home Chapel in Chickasha, OK. Interment will be at Ninnekah Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
A family visitation will be held Monday, January 27, 2025 from 5pm to 7pm at Sevier Funeral Home.
Buford Dean Boswell passed from this life at his home in Rush Springs, OK, on Friday, January 17, 2025 at the age of 87. He was born on November 3, 1937 to William Trammell Boswell and Mary Cleo (Williams) Boswell in Ninnekah, OK.
Buford was known as a Jack of all trades. He was a farmer, a mechanic, and a craftsman. He loved to travel selling his crafts.
He attended Agawam until 6th grade then finished high school and graduated from Ninnekah Schools. Buford had a twelve-year perfect attendance record in school. His first job was a bookkeeper. He was a ranch hand and had his own cattle and mechanic shop. He also owned the Half Acre Truck Stop. Buford also worked as a road mechanic for Western Company where he lived in Enid, OK as well as Louisiana. He was a firefighter at the Chickasha Fire Department for several years where he retired. He then started his furniture company making Western Furniture. He traveled around selling these beautiful pieces at craft shows and festivals.
For close to 50 years, he delivered watermelons to Cal Farley's Boys and Girls Ranch in Amarillo, TX. It was the highlight of his life. He loved interacting with the kids and the staff.
He married his first wife, Iris June Davidson on August 2, 1956. Together they had three children, Cindy, Rusty, and Dusty. He loved his kids and grandkids.
Buford married his second wife, Krin Hollingsworth on November 26, 1996. They had 28 wonderful years together. He acquired more family, Krin's children, Brant, Donnie, and Ronnie.
He never met a stranger. Buford leaves behind many family members whom he loved dearly and he will be dearly missed.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Trammell and Cleo Boswell; his son, Rusty Boswell; his brothers, Johnny Boswell and Joe Boswell; his sister, Joyce Janke.
Buford is survived by his wife, Krin Boswell of the home in Rush Springs, OK; his daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Gary Hoffman of Chickasha, OK; his son and daughter-in-law, Dusty and Jayne Boswell of Edmond, OK; his daughter-in-law, Tena Boswell of Ninnekah, OK; stepchildren, Brant Bristow and wife, Abby, of Rush Springs, OK, Donnie Warren and wife Annette of Broken Arrow, OK, and Ronnie Warren and wife Debbie of Tyler, TX; his grandkids, Shelby Bayless and wife Val of San Diego, CA, Kristin Kayne and husband David of Amber, OK, Trent Hoffman of Chickasha, OK, Russell Boswell Jr. and wife Lisa of Friend, OK, Sadie Boswell of Edmond, OK, Bobby Bristow of Rush Springs, OK, Scott Warren and wife Lindsey of Lewisville, TX, Jessica Warren of Tyler, TX, Kristin Penny and husband Luke of Tyler, TX, Kyle Warren of Tulsa, OK; his 12 great grandchildren; his sister, Lawanna Jackson; aunt and uncle, Toresa and Allen Foster; special nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
