Boyd Ray Anthony, Sr.

Boyd Ray Anthony, Sr, of Ninnekah, Oklahoma, was born on March 31, 1931 at Marlow, Oklahoma to parents J.A. and Jessie Anthony.  He passed away on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 in Duncan, Oklahoma at the age of 88.

He married Frances Davis on August 2, 1953.  They were married almost 66 years.

He had resided in the Ninnekah Community his entire life. Ray was a farmer-rancher raising Beefmaster cattle, wheat, and alfalfa hay.  He owned his own trucking business delivering alfalfa hay to customers in Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi.  In the process he made many lifelong friends.

In his earlier years he was employed at Oklahoma Gas Company, Chickasha Fire Department, Ford Tractor Equipment Company and Halliburton.  Farming and ranching was in his blood therefore he returned to what he loved to do, raising his family on the farm.

Ray was a lifelong member of Ninnekah Baptist Church and he served as board member for American Farmers and Ranchers Insurance Co. for 20 years.  He served 28 years as board member for Rural Electric Cooperative of Lindsay.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John Alburn and Jessie Inez Anthony.

Ray is survived by his wife, Frances Lea Anthony of Ninnekah, OK;

His children:  Loxie Jo Spencer and husband, Wayne, of Chickasha, OK; Barbara Gayle Bray and husband, Terry, of Fletcher, OK; Boyd Ray Anthony, Jr. of Fletcher, OK; and Michael Bruce Anthony and wife, Leah, of Tuttle, OK;

A sister, Peggy June Castleberry and husband, Kirk, of Ninnekah, OK;

13 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren

and several nieces and nephews
