Bobby Dale Allen

Bobby (Bob) Dale Allen, age 86, of Tuttle, Okla., went home to be with the Lord on June 19, 2018.

He was born on January 27, 1932 in Yeager, Oklahoma to Thomas and Anna Mae (Venis) Allen. Anxious to serve his country and see the world, he joined the 45th National Guard before he finished high school. He served in the Korean War beginning in September of 1950, during which time he earned the rank of Corporal and received the Korean Service Medal and Army Occupation Medal (Japan). He was honorably discharged on March 21, 1952.

He married the love of his life, Wilma Dean (Ingram), on November 26, 1954. For more than 20 years, Bob never missed a day on the job at American Trailers, often volunteering to work the overnight shift to support his young family. He then worked at Lee Way and Transcon until he retired. Bob helped Wilma run a successful business in downtown Tuttle for thirty years, and they were named Tuttle Co-Citizens of the Year in 2012.

He and Wilma were members of First Baptist Church of Tuttle, and Bob especially enjoyed reading books on religion and faith. Bob had several hobbies over the years, including photography, birding, stargazing, and gardening, with a particular knack for growing tomatoes and strawberries. He was a fixture on the sidelines of countless softball and basketball games, cheering on his granddaughters and their teammates. He was a Cowboys and Sooners fan, no matter what the sport, as well as a Thunder fan.

Left to honor Bob and remember his love are his son Gary Allen and his wife Jamey, and daughter Connie Henderson, as well as six grandchildren: Jaclyn Allen, Robyn Cates, Lori Walke, Pamela Duncan, Stacie Schleis, Tracie Hash, and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, his wife, and his beloved grandson Justin Hinkle.

Bob's family will remember his love of naps and milkshakes. His warm smile will live on in our hearts forever.
