Billy Jr. Ragsdale, 93, of Tuttle, Oklahoma passed away peacefully on October 23, 2019. Billy was born to William E. Ragsdale and Ellen Marie (Whitener) Ragsdale on November 22, 1925 at Blanchard, Oklahoma. He was eight years young when his father passed away due to Tuberculosis. This untimely death occurred during the depression. Times were tough and hard. He felt responsible for providing for his mother and sister.
Later he moved away from home to provide for himself so he wouldn't be a burden to the family. He worked for various farmers during his pre-teen and teenage years.
He was a farmer, cattleman, and electrician during his adult life. He will be remembered by his family as a man who they respected and loved with a deep faith in God. He was a deacon and taught the Senior Men's Sunday School class at Tuttle First Baptist Church for many years. He had a deep loved for the men who attended the class. If you visited him during the last few years, he would usually have his Bible in his lap either reading it or asleep (he said "meditating").
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Irma Lois (Garrison) Ragsdale; infant granddaughter Erica Ann Ragsdale; great grandson Marcus Stefan Waitman; one sister Laura Faye Testerman; one brother Mac McKinney; son-in-law Bob Waitman.
He is survived by his sister Elsie Ruth Oltmanns of Crescent, Oklahoma. Daughter Donna Waitman of Ryan, Oklahoma. Sons: Kenneth Ragsdale and wife Vicki of Tuttle, Oklahoma; Pat Ragsdale and wife Stacy of Tuttle, Oklahoma; David Ragsdale and wife Sharon of Meeker, Oklahoma. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
