Betty Ruth (Clark) Langford, of Alex, Oklahoma, passed away on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 in Chickasha, Oklahoma at the age of 92. She was born April 22, 1926 in Chickasha, Oklahoma to Cecil Edwin and Cecil Vera (Roach) Clark.
She lived in the Alex area since 1949, in Grady Co. area all of her life. She met Bob Langford at a rodeo parade and dated him 6 months and then married Bob on July 2, 1949. They had 6 boys: Robert, Derrell, Emmett, Coye, Jimmy and Boyd. They tragically lost Emmett at 22 months old to drowning.
Bob and Betty lived and farmed in the Alex area, where they always grew big gardens and Betty canned lots of good food, providing for her family. They also enjoyed sharing the food from their gardens with family and friends.
After the loss of their son Emmett, Bob and Betty started attending a Baptist church close by, then later went to the Westside Church of Christ in Alex, then changed to the Main St. Church of Christ in Alex. They attended there for many years until Betty's declining health kept her from attending. Her favorite song was "My God and I" and her favorite scripture was the 23rd Psalm.
She is preceded in death by her father, Cecil E. Clark; Mother, Cecil V. Clark Lowe and her stepfather, Vernon Lowe; her husband, Robert Langford; and sons, Emmett and Derrell Langford.
Betty is survived by her sons:
Robert Langford and his wife, Lois, of Alex, OK;
Coye Langford and wife, Marla, of Alex, OK;
Jimmy Langford and wife, Nancy, of Ninnekah, OK;
Boyd Langford and wife, Tricia, of Minco, OK;
17 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.
