Betty Ruth (Egbert) Beets, 79
Betty Ruth (Egbert) Beets, age 79, of Chickasha, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully at her home on March 31, 2026.
A private family ceremony will be held at a later date in Carmi, Illinois.
Betty was born on July 7, 1946, in Carmi, Illinois, to Wallace “Tom” Egbert and Sarah (McDaniel) Egbert. She graduated from Carmi Community High School in 1964. On March 9, 1965, she married the love of her life, Stephen Beets. Following Stephen’s service in the United States Navy, they made their home in Chickasha, Oklahoma.
Throughout her life, Betty worked in a variety of roles, including positions at Pet Milk Foods, Grady Memorial Hospital, The Pet Shop & Grooming, and Wee Care Learning Center. She later retired from SPA for Special Young Adults. She also managed King’s Inn Restaurant and proudly owned the Blue Lounge.
Betty was known for her love of cooking and baking, often opening her home and kitchen to her children and their friends. Her warmth, generosity, and strong family values left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
She is survived by her sons, Greg (Barbara) Egbert, Raymond Beets, and A.J. (Jeannie) Beets; her cherished grandchildren, Crystal (Chris) Martin, Tiffany (Curtis) Boyd, Bradon Egbert, Stephen Beets, Ben Beets, Stephanie Egbert, Destiny Beets, Kammy Shipley, and Brayden Provence; and her beloved great-grandchildren, Cayleigh Martin, Cooper Martin, Aiden Boyd, Jaxon Boyd, Addison Boyd, Barrett Boyd, Lincoln Boyd, Bentley Beets, and Nova Beets, with one great-grandchild on the way.
She is also survived by her siblings, William (Anna) Egbert, Wallace (MaryAnn) Egbert, Glena (Delbert) Kelley, Carol (Van) Naylor, and Michael (Kim) Egbert, along with many nieces and nephews.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen Beets; her parents; and her siblings, Robert Egbert, Les Egbert, Larry Egbert, and Eddie Egbert.
Betty will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
Cremation services are under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
