Barbara La Jean Morris

Funeral Service will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at Bible Baptist Church. Committal Service will be at Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.

Barbara La Jean Morris passed from this life on June 2, 2023, at her home surrounded by family at the age of 82. She was born December 21, 1940, in Minco, Oklahoma to parents J.B. Hines and Aliene (Davis) Hines.

Barbara grew up in Minco, Oklahoma, and attended Minco Public Schools, she graduated as Valedictorian from Minco High School in 1959. Barbara met her husband, Earl Morris Jr., through family while they were in high school. Barbara and Earl were married on September 26, 1959, in Minco, Oklahoma. They moved to Ninnekah, Oklahoma where she lived for the rest of her life. Together they had two children, Sandy and Brett. Barbara and Earl raised their children on the farm in Ninnekah, Oklahoma.

Barbara loved to cook and sew, as well as work outside. She loved spending time with her granddaughters, who she affectionately called "her girls." She always loved cooking and sewing with her granddaughters and getting to teach them new things.

Barbara, with her husband Jr., had a successful dairy for many years of their lives. Their involvement in the industry allocated them with many recognitions and awards, a couple of them being the prestigious Young Farmers and Ranchers Award and Honorary State Farmer Award.

She is preceded in death by her parents, J.B. and Aliene Hines; sister-in-law, Geraldine Hines.

Barbara is survived by her husband, Earl Morris Jr.; her children, Sandy and husband, Steve Pope of Loyal, Oklahoma and Brett and wife, Jackie Morris of Ninnekah; grandchildren, Alicia and husband, Justin Lee, Cami and husband, Jonathan Benecke, Rustin Pope, Brian Morris, Ashley Wright, and Makayla Morris, great-grandchildren, Jordyn and Ava Lee, Allie and Parker Benecke, Saidee Wright and Mia Forman, Journey Pope, brother, Jerry Hines and sister, Kathy and husband, Nick Morrison and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
