Audrey Smith

Audrey Smith was born September 11, 1937 in New York City, New York to Charles and Audrey (Brown) Smith.  She passed away on Sunday, May 29, 2016 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 78.

Ms. Smith lived most of her life in New York City.  She worked 37 years for Columbia University Press before retiring as a Book Designer.  She has lived in Oklahoma since 1999 after her retirement.

She was very involved with the Friends of the Library, a member of P.E.O. Sisterhood Chickasha Chapter GZ, also she delivered and was involved with Meals on Wheels.

Ms. Smith was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church and was a member of the Alter Society.  She was instrumental in forming and instructing Bible studies in her church.  She also served the church as a lector and server.

She was a good friend to her sisters and she was very generous by nature to everyone.

She is preceded in death by her parents and other family members.

Ms. Smith is survived by 3 sisters:  Helen Joseph of Brooklyn, NY;

Mildred Johnson of Chickasha, OK;

Gloria Johnson of Chickasha, OK;

1 nephew, 2 nieces and 13 grandnieces and nephews
and a host of friends who loved her very much.
