Alta Louise Barnes

Alta Louise (Bookout) Barnes went home to be with her Lord and Savior the morning of April 12, 2019 in Sugar Land, Texas at the age of 82.  She was born July 10, 1936 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to R.V. Smith and Helen Louise McKernan.

Alta is preceded in death by her father R.V. Smith of Oklahoma City, OK and her mother, Helen Louise McKernan of Oklahoma City, OK.

She is survived by her 2 sons: Larry Bookout, wife Tina, of Columbus, TX and Mark Bookout, wife Christina, of Newalla, OK;  Grandsons:  Travis, Nathan, Matt, and Jacob; Great Grandchildren: Sean, Mitchell, Addison, Cooper, Maverick and Logan; and her sister, Gloria Gray.

Alta was retired from Tinker Air Force Base where she worked in Civil Service for 33 years.  In the early years after retirement Alta passer her time by doing ceramics, sewing and quilting.   She loved her quilting the most.  All of her loved ones who received a quilt knew that it was made with great love.

She was loved by all who came in contact with her.  She was truly a blessing in our lives and she will be dearly missed.
