Alma June Ricks
Alma June Ricks passed from this life on October 1, 2026 in Oklahoma City, OK at the age of 92. She was born on December 24, 1933 in Naples, OK to parents, Raymond Ogle and Ruth (Butler) Ogle.
Viewing for June Ricks will be held on Thursday, October 8, 2026 at Sevier Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Funeral service for June Ricks will be held on Thursday, October 8, 2026 at the Sevier Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be at Ft. Sill Cemetery on Friday, October 9, 2026 at 9:00 a.m. under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home, 702 W. Chickasha Avenue, Chickasha, OK 73018.
June grew up in the Naples and Middleberg areas. She graduated from Middleberg High School. June married Melvin Ricks Sr. in 1951 in Chickasha, OK. Together they had two sons, Melvin Jr. and Stephen. June and Melvin moved around while Melvin was in the Marine Corp—but Chickasha was always home base. June and Melvin built a home in Middleberg in 1973 where they settled and lived until Melvin’s passing in 2014.
June loved cooking and was an excellent cook. She would always make meals for the Broom Corn Harvesters. She enjoyed camping and traveling. She and her husband, Melvin, went on several cruises. They also were able to travel throughout the United States. She enjoyed gardening and growing numerous flowers. June loved being outside and working in the yard.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Ricks, Sr.; her parents, Raymond and Ruth (Butler) Ogle; her siblings, twin sister, Jean Corley, Sam Ogle, Wilma Hooker, and Lewis Ogle; her grandson, Brandon Ricks; her daughter-in-law, Cheryl Ricks.
June is survived by her sons, Melvin Ricks Jr and Stephen Ricks and his wife Linda; her grandchildren, Brandon Ricks’ wife, Colleen Ricks, Brian Ricks and wife Melodi, Gage Ricks and wife Victoria, and Tyler Ricks; several great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Blanchard Church of Christ, 1220 N. Madison Ave, Blanchard, OK 73010.
