Funeral Service will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 25, 2022, at the First Christian Church in Chickasha, Oklahoma. Interment will be in Fairlawn Cemetery following the service under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.

Alan Dale Todd, of Chickasha, Oklahoma, passed away on Friday, April 22, 2022, in Chickasha, Oklahoma at the age of 74. He was born December 11, 1947, in Minco, Oklahoma to Flake Monroe and Viola Christine (Boles) Todd.

Alan grew up in Cox City, OK, his family moved to Chickasha where he attended school until his senior year when he moved to Tuttle, OK, and graduated top of his class in 1966. After graduating, Alan went to OSU to get his bachelor's degree in education with a minor in special education. In 1970 after graduating from OSU, Alan enlisted in the Vietnam Conflict and joined the United States Army where he was stationed in Germany working as a clerk. After Alan served, he came back to Oklahoma where he began working in a boy's home in Tulsa helping boys with special needs. He then went to work in the public school system in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Alan left Oklahoma City public schools and started working as a graduate assistant when he began working on his master's degree which he finished in one year, afterward he began working on his Doctor of Philosophy which he finished in 1976. That same year Alan began working as a professor at USAO. Alan was a professor at USAO from 1976 to 2010 when he retired.

In 1977 Alan met the love of his life Frances (Beasley) Todd at a function on the USAO campus. Alan and Frances were married on April 29, 1978, at Epworth United Methodist Church. They had their son, Adam Todd, in 1982.

Alan was a deacon, elder, and moderator at his church home, First Christian Church which he was a faithful member of for 28 years. He was a president and member of the Chickasha Public School Foundation. As well as a member of the Chickasha city council from 1988-1991, and Vice Mayor from 1990-1991. Alan loved children, fly fishing, traveling the world, anywhere he went Alan always saw someone he knew, and he was passionate about creating educators and education overall. He housed many soccer students from USAO who needed a place to live. More than anything else Alan loved his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents and Frances' parents.

Alan is survived by his wife, Frances (Beasley) Todd; son, Adam Todd and fiancé Emily and her daughter Adalynn; sister, Cheryl Sehon and husband Dwain; nephew Chris and wife, Kara, and their son, Jacob Green; niece, Alicia Spain and husband, Terrence, and their children, Preston and Kaitlyn Spain; as well as many other loved ones.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Child Development Center at USAO.
